Now, to your question, you shouldn't review all the questions. Why? First you want to get used to the timing of the test (ergo the timed part), you also want to interleave and mix the subjects this leads to better retention (ergo the all topics selected ( Evidence))Ĭontrary to popular belief, Uworld is not a testing tool, although it does provide valuable feedback about what areas you need to study, its a learning tool! Use it often, test taking is one of the best ways to learn (for evidence, look at the systematic review previously linked) Timed non-tutor mode 40 questions always with all topics selected. I have gone from a 40-50% right to an 85-90% right so here is my two cents.

Use your incorrect UW deck to hone into conceptual misunderstandings you may have. There are already amazing decks to drill in the facts. Often we get things wrong thinking, “oh if I knew this fact I’d have gotten it right.” But in actuality, it’s the thinking process that needs to improve, ie connecting the information to the bigger picture/paradigm. For the questions you get wrong, try to look into the conceptual mistake you made, vs the “fact” that you didn’t know. An easy mistake to make with anki is putting to much info into a card. I wouldn’t worry too much in the beginning about the time or score as your mind adapts to thinking the right way, things get much faster and easier.Īs far as anki is concerned, I would still make them from incorrect questions. IMO the reason UW is so great is that it develops your critical thinking and forces you to grasp the concept over just memorizing facts.

A lot of people (including myself) like to annotate small tidbits into FA, but that’s up to you. I think you can definitely go through your first pass without taking notes.
